A campus day is long. The first lecture can start at eight and the last one can end after five. In between there is the library, the cafeteria, a group project, and the walk between buildings in the heat. Lashes that look good at seven in the morning have to last through the day.
Most lash advice is written for one evening and a few photos. A full day of classes asks for something different. The lashes need to be lighter, the glue needs to hold, and you need a plan for taking them off. Our lash collection has pairs for both kinds of day.
Weight
Weight is the part most people ignore.
In June 2025, Aseel Shashtare published a study in Cureus based on the answers of 499 women about artificial lashes. Of the 266 women who had worn them, the most common problem was heavy eyelids, reported by 40 of them. Next came a shadow at the edge of their vision, then tearing and itching. The women who wore lashes more often, and for longer, were more likely to have these problems.
So on the days you wear lashes for ten hours, choose a lighter pair.
The pairs in the box
Our Summer Lashes Collection comes with five natural pairs, from short to long and from thin to thick. Youmi made it to be lightweight and comfortable for all day wear. For a class day, take one of the short, thin pairs. From across a lecture hall it looks like your own lashes on a good morning. Up close, it still opens the eyes.
Save the longer, fuller pairs for the evening. A dinner after your last class, or a friend's engagement party on a weekend in Riyadh or Kuwait City. Those are the occasions where a thicker lash belongs, and where you will wear it for a few hours instead of a whole day.
The 3D Silk Lashes work the same way, with five pairs that run from short to long. If you like having a second set ready, keep one box for weekdays and one for weekends.
Glue
Neither set comes with glue. For the Summer set, Youmi recommends a clear, latex free lash adhesive, for a better hold and a more comfortable wear. Clear glue also dries invisible, which matters when nobody is supposed to notice.
Before the first wear, hold the lash against your eye. If it runs past your outer corner, trim it from the outer end with small scissors. A lash that is too long for your eye is the one that lifts by midday.
Put a moderate amount of glue along the band. Wait 30 seconds so it can set. Then, with tweezers, place the lash as close to your own lash line as you can. Too much glue takes longer to dry and is harder to clean off at night, so less is better.
If you wear colored lenses too, put them in first and the lashes after. That way no glue gets near the lens, and your fingers are clean when they touch your eyes.
If you wear mascara, put it on your own lashes before the false pair goes on. Youmi advises against using lash curlers or stiff mascara on the false lashes themselves, because both shorten their life.
Between lectures
Air conditioning dries your eyes over a long day, and dry eyes make you want to rub them. Try not to. Rubbing loosens the band, usually at the outer corner first.
Keep a small mirror and a pair of tweezers in your bag. A corner that lifts at noon is easy to press back down in the bathroom between classes. A corner that lifts at noon and gets ignored until four will usually be hanging off by then.
Three in the afternoon
Heavy lids, a shadow at the edge of your vision, watery or itchy eyes. These were the most common complaints in the 2025 study, and they are your signal to take the lashes off, even if the day is not over. A lash look is not worth an afternoon of discomfort.
Some days, skip them completely. The study linked longer and more frequent wear to more problems, and a few lash free days a week give your eyes a rest.
At night
Peel the lashes off slowly, from the outer corner toward the inner corner. Youmi's own advice is to apply and remove them gently, because that is what makes a pair last. Never sleep in them. If a little dry glue stays on the band, pick it off with your fingers so the pair sits flat next time.
Then put the pair back in its place in the box, next to the four you have not tried yet.
